I wonder if there was a serial # break or something. Cause buddy had a 28' 3900 that was identical to my 496. 

Or maybe somebody re decalled it. 



490/496 has the A frame for the wing fold. 3900/3950 and the RMX does not. Their wing fold cylinders lay flat.

3900 came out with 6 bolt hubs but there was a field installed update the dealers did to give them 8 bolt hubs like the 3950’s have. We had one and they installed the kit.

490 wing fold is at the front, 496 is at the rear. Honestly prefer a 490 to the later ones until the RMX came out. 496 will break the rear center beam where the center fold mechanism is. 3900/3950 will almost always be welded on the main frame above the wheels. 490 will be welded at the front of the wings where the fold mechanism is. Of all the designs, the 490 is easiest to “fix”.
