NW Missouri | We do the same thing backgrounding calves, but they don't head out the gate. They hear the feeder coming and still come crowd around the bunks and don't want to leave. We've found it's easiest just to go back and run them out of the pen after they're done eating and already have them shut out when you show up with the feed next time. Their water and hay is in thire main pen, so they don't need to be in the feed pen the rest of the time anyway. | |
