If the op is in the farming business which I think he is then building equity in land is certainly a logical thing to do.
I interpreted his question to ask how to structure the debt on the land that he is considering buying not whether or not he should buy it.
You are correct. Unfortunately this spun into opinions on buying land, away from insights on debt structure and where rates are going. Not bad insight, and worth what I paid for it!
