That 1373 should be a good mower for you. You will need 100 horsepower, or preferably a little more depending on how steep your hills are to run it. Everyone has a different budget but if your a beginner making 100 acres of hay, i would probably start with a used mower. I think a nice used 1411 or 7230 New holland for 7500-15K or less would very easily cut 100 acres a couple times a year. Baling/handling and selling 100 acres of hay is going to be harder than mowing it.
