What should 9 pivots cost? If it's way too high did you consider the salesperson figured out what he was getting into.
$15,000 per span and $10,000 per pivot point should easily cover the above ground portion of the project. OP said 1.5-6 acres each, so 1-4 spans per machine, so if they average 3 spans it could be just under $500,000 for all. They’ve been running wheel lines and/or hand lines so they already have a pump and some main line. It won’t take anywhere near $500,000 to complete some water line hook ups and run wire to everything. Some of the bid is undoubtedly padding to be ready to deal with problems that may arise working in a neighborhood full of people with money.
