This is a big issue for most millennial farmers that want to own land that the family didn’t just throw in their lap.
By the time this happens they’ll be in their mid to late 50’s and won’t have any land if they don’t buy anything now.
Land value doesn’t really matter unless you are selling it or it drops so bad that it makes your balance sheet so poor that you not going to get any operating money or the loan is called due to the drop.
2/3 drop might be on the high side but I also think 1/3 of a drop in the next decade or so is very possible. | |
