SW OH
We got our first disc mower 30 years ago. I can't ever see going back to a sickle bar. With a disc mower you can drive as fast as you can stay in the seat. We put extra effort into making hay fields smooth and pick up rocks. A center pivot is nice since you can start on one side of a field and not lay off lands. Less time is spent driving across the end of the field. On hillsides a center pivot is easier to control side drift. Of the center pivots we have the PTO shaft going to the tractor always stays straight. We've never had a flail conditioner since we've been warned they are no good in alfalfa or clover.
