Floyd County, Iowa | I think you hit the nail on the head. I remember not too long ago that they wanted to go all plastic because you can't track cash.
People are too far removed from the days of communism abroad. This is the next step. Many of us remember and can see the similarities of control.
Another thing is the water needed to cool these data centers. They will draw down the aquafers drastically, and we are already concerned about water quality.
They want to build wind turbines and solar panels for the electricity for the data centers. I'm thinking that when wind and/or solar doesn't produce enough electricity for them like low wind or night time situations, the data centers will have priority for the conventionally generated electricity, since they will be deemed more important, and the people could be allocated.
The naysayers in the big cities and the techno geeks out here in the "wastelands" are not looking at the big picture nor very possible issues from these data centers. All for AI.
