McCanna, ND | Soundguards will keep getting repaired as long as they fit a guys needs. They are setting the used useful tractor price imo. If a 40+ year old soundguard has 30-50k of value (I think that’s crazy) a 25-30 year old machine isn’t going to be in that price range unfortunately if it’s apples/apples condition wise.
I spent 2x my initial budget for a loader tractor in November. My requirements were something that wasn’t wore out and anyone could drive it. Bought a 6 year old tractor with 2300 hours for not much more than a 25 year old tractor with 2-3x the hours. And at 2x the price of a 2wd soundguard with loader I think a way better deal for the money.
Wasn’t that long ago (10-12years) it seemed like 15k would buy an average 4430/4440 and 20k would buy an above average one at auction.
I think it’s still the starting phase of the buyers market. | |
