East of Broken Bow | Both my dad and my grandpa bought land that would pay for itself. I have 'seen' land sell that would have started paying for itself a few years after the sale, but I can't ever in my life say I've ever seen land sell that would cash flow on the day of the sale.
What seems to happen is people buy land either with other money, or subsidize it with the rest of their operation to pay it off. Or, if you are lucky and have good timing, buy land on a low, and in a few years things turn around and it starts paying its way quickly. If you have bad timing and buy on a high, you might spend half your life making payments on it. | |
