Middle Tennessee | I think I still got all the chainsaws that belong to the farm in an old storage shed. First chainsaw was a Homelite XL-2 with a 12 inch bar my father bought new in 1975. In 1978 I brought a Homelite XL-12 with a 16 inch bar to cut firewood and cedar fence posts with. I brought the Homelite instead of a Stihl Farmboss because at that time it almost a $100 cheaper if I remember right. In the mid eighties my father brought a Poulan with a 14 inch bar ( one of those lightweight homeowner chainsaw ). It was light and didn’t wear you out cutting firewood or cedar logs. Around 1996 I brought a Husqvarna chainsaw with a 18 inch bar. In 2015 got a Stihl MS 390 Farm Boss with 20 inch bar and got a smaller Stihl MS 180 last December. I the Homelite and the Poulan chainsaws got a little tired because they were used a lot when I was younger, but my newer Stihl’s are nice and nice weight for them. | |
