You could get a new holland head. Model could be 98c but not sure. And put the full calmer kit on and be under your $30000. This allows you to process the stalks for faster breakdown of them and has less tire damage from stubble.
I traded a C for a D, to get the knife to knife rolls. I was pleased with the job it did, mostly. When stalks got tough, performance suffered. Otherwise it served me well. Had it on a 9040. I really, really liked that combine for that era. Was the nicest machine I’d ever owned up to that point, which was around 2010.
