| We VR most all corn and soybeans. Sometimes will flat rate a field that is pretty even. I can build reds for pretty much free in sms basic (yes there’s an annual subscription fee) and I already have vr drives on the planter so it doesn’t really cost anything.
What data to use to make them is up to everyone’s opinion and they differ. Corn we plant thicker and dark soil and thinner on light soil, reverse that in soybeans.
I was hoping I’d be able to use smartfirmer OM maps to create accurate OM maps to base future VR seeding reps on but that hasn’t panned out. If someone is doing this please chime in.
I soil sample in 6-10a zones so my soil tests aren’t really accurate enough to vr seed by the acre | |
