SW Central Illinois | My great uncle is a retired feed salesman. He doesn’t have cows anymore but still some chickens. He feeds a little cat food (most of it is 30 percent protein) with his pelleted layer feed. He puts some water with it before feeding.
We sometimes find 21-22 percent layer feed , this last time we couldn’t get it and bought the 16 and added 1 part cat food to 4 parts layer feed. We are on a trial run but I think it’s kept egg production up? I keep mine dry. | |
