My guys run all the cows out of the pen, then shut the gate. Then they dump the cake in the bunks and let the cattle back in. I’ve gotten jostled around feeding a few times like what you describe but I don’t know that I would have ever thought of the strategy they use in spite of that.
And they wonder why more people don't have cattle.
