Not really. We have 3,4, 5, 6 year olds that believe they can be any gender they desire.

I'm well aware of that. My point to Mr. Schmid is to suggest you're going to ruin your child's character by allowing them to believe in something that half the Earth believed in until they were 10 or so, and to think the kid will use that against the parent to justify crappy behavior is, quite honestly, the most idiotic and stupid opinion I've ever heard. Believing in Santa Claus is the reason your kids lie, cheat, steal, and don't respect you as a parent because you told them Santa was REAL? I cannot believe what I am reading.

Sorry, I just saw this! Thanks for the kind words, LOL!

I just don't see the real value in the whole thing. I've got 4 kids 9-17, and I'm supposed to spend 18 years bending over backwards to keep a charade up that benefits my family how? I still can't see how insisting to my kids the first ten years of their lives that someone comes down the chimney and delivers them presents. Shoot, my kids would have been asking at 3 or 4 already how he even fits. Call me a fuddy dud, but the Santa Claus story is a 9th Commandment violation.

I'm going to try to be consistent and live in reality and grounded in truth.
