WAG as I looked up the code and also knowing it was a problem with the previous monitor, I'm leaning towards a F-N-R lever problem.

Is this on an MT Challenger?

Have you been having trouble going into forward or reverse?

I did have the F-N-R shifter go bad on our 765D at 2,700 hours.
