North of London | Yes my memory was you let off gas pedal and then OD engaged until you stomped down on pedal.
When you stepped hard on gas pedal you would feel the vehicle disengage with a little step up in speed
Fuel efficiency was quite good for the Studebaker with OD compared to other makes at that time as I remember
City of London had a number of Larks for cruisers.
I believe those cars had good power and speed compared to lots of other makes so made them good for overtaking vehicles when necessary
I was a poor farmer trying to start farming and was cheap so appreciated good fuel efficient vehicle
No other concern about a vehicle as long as it started and went when I needed it.
Cheap used cars even had a VW for a few years, actually liked that little bug.
Used it to help chase down a wild young steer for an uncle one time.
His pickup would not turn quick enough to keep up with animal but we got a rope on it from VW and got it back to barn.
VW wore the animal out but I believe it head butted passenger door and left a dent but we caught it. | |
