North Central Kansas | The two quotes we got were $7200 and $7600 installed. The price they are quoting on just the system is double what we can buy the system for. The math isn't mathing. The install time on these systems is about 2-3 hours. Even if you figure two guys at $150/hour each that doesn't add up. The RPS turnkey kit with pipe and everything is $3100. The guy I had install the system in 2024 replaced a hydrant at my house and set the tank and the solar pump system for $3700. Unfortunately he retired.
One of the bids they wanted to put an AC 230V pump in with a solar controller with a 24 volt to 230V inverter. I might see that as a good option if it was a location that we ran cattle in the winter but for just a regular set up it seems like overkill.
