| If you choose to interpret it that way, so be it. I merely mention my own experience because having lived in the OP kids' shoes allows me to see the abuse (and that is exactly what it is) that obviously many cannot.
Wars have been fought over the God given right to human freedom. Parents who demand that their adult children have to live according to their rules and meet their "standards" (even from the grave!) to be worthy human beings, are clearly the same kind of freedom suppressing tyrants that history is full of of. It is human nature for people under those conditions to reject it. Parents should show unconditional love to their children, but some forget or do not know the definition of unconditional.
