West Central Indiana | I have a 2010 Dodge Journey with the V6 in it. Has 130,00 miles. This fall the engine started making noise. Took it to a local shade tree mechanic and he tried swapping coils around but there seems to be an issue with cylinder #5 not firing. He said it might be an injector or a valve/cam issue. I told him to sideline the project for now.
If its an injector issue is that easy to replace? Seems like there is noise coming from the engine like something knocking. Seems more violent than an injector not firing. If a valve or cam shaft is bad....I'm assuming this would be time for the scrap yard for the vehicle?
Thanks for any help.
