I am sure if you are gone and your wife is sick the last thing she wants to worry about is how to get medical treatment or nursing home and not pay taxes by selling the land. If your kids have no interest do what makes you and your wife happy. What if farming stinks for 6-7 years and land goes down 20%? It can and may happen. If you cash out and want to donate to some charities here and there it is no big deal but hard to do that cash strapped trying to hold on for kids not sacrificing with you. | |
