Iowa | Denmark gdp is 450 billion - to us thats a drop in the bucket. Imagine if someone offered the US 30 trillion for alaska or hawaii -- it will be a non issue when they start talking money that kind of money.
I'm not exactly sure what trumps angle is on this one -- other than the assumption that there is a lot of oil there. I've heard some theories that the next great divide will be regions - Europe becoming more closely aligned with the middle east, china in the pacific, Japan/korea with australia and the Americas -- if so that would provide a strategic buffer from europe who will look more like afganastan than europe in 50 years.
either way I'm not a big fan of it. | |
