The US president said a few days ago that Denmark gives the Greenland government a direct $600M transfer payment each year, which is $20K per capita for what he said was  30K Greenlanders.  He threw out upping the number to $2B to the press gaggle and Reuters says 57K Greenlanders, which is 30 K per capita.

I have learned on YouTube that William Seward recommended the US purchase Greenland after Alaska and Truman made an offer also in the past.  Somehow this wasn’t covered in HS history.

Its an interesting time for sure.
