Subject: RE: Putting Hayfield back into Row Crop Production

South Dakota
Every time I have planted beans in a spot like this, the return was not that good, and weeds were harder to control. Along with that, I am not sure what the synergy is with doing corn as the first crop, but is seems the first 4 or 5 years, the crops do better. This is all while trying do what the soil tests tell me. I really believe corn does something good for the soil the first year. This is all in a no-till environment. And this is all my own opinion from my experience. I would try to get the grass roots dead as soon as possible, fall would definitely been best, but at this point I definitely would do corn especially now. If it was me.
