Subject: Crop budget - combine cost

east central ND
Doing the normal yearly review of my crop budget. Machinery, seed, chem, etc. trying to get a better idea for combine expenses in these modern times. What are you guys using for actual cost per acre for a combine these days?

The state university has custom rates that are reported on their web site, but that should have a bit of profit built in.

Everyone has a different amount. But I run a middle age to older combine that someday will be replaced with another middle aged machine with hopefully lower hours. My wear parts $$ per acre might be higher than a fresh newer machine, and my actual $$ spent on repairs is pretty reasonable.

But…………… with the price of older used combines falling off quickly, machine depreciation can be a lot. And then there might be the big unexpected repair that pops up…. But that same depreciation might be beneficial to me in the future to buy a decent used machine for less than a guy might expect.

Ssoooo………. What are you using in your crop budget for actual combine expenses per acre? $15 $20 $25 ??. And then the $ for a corn head or bean head……….hhhmmmm.
