I'm in a similar situation. Young guy starting out and bought a farm that was in hay. I plan to take first cutting off of it then plant no till beans. I will most likely work it before planting corn in 2027 to level things up.

I have no tilled corn into sod 1 time before and it was a terrible mistake. (Probably had a lot to do with inexperience.)

If it's been mined on fertility I would for sure apply 150# of potash at minimum.
