| Nutritionist also have a score on each feeds for how it theoretically pellets called a PDI. Basically a hi PDI feed only needs heat and pressure like a Chinese pellet mill does. Steam can be added to speed the process up. Middle tier PDI feeds need steam to make them stick. Really low PDI feeds need steam and commercial binders. DDGS is one of the lowest PDI feeds.. Even with steam and binders commercial pellets limit its inclusion to around 20% or 25% IIRC.
No commercial feed mill will even try pelleting 100% dddgs. The pellets you see are a special process
