NE SD | For tillage work, if you're buying a higher hp tractor like 400+ with big tires, absolutely. If you're going to compare a row crop 4wd to a big fwa, the only thing better about them is they have heavier differentials. We've had a Deere 9230 and currently an 8345R. Had them both for a while. The 9230 didn't do anything better except was a better price point than a equivalent fwa. Rode rougher, harder to get into, etc. I'm not saying that just to knock 4wds because we've always had articulate tractors and always will. They just aren't necessary to put down 350-400hp. |
