You have to have the hoe there and keep pushing the pile tight. I've burnt 4 piles that size in a half mile row. Spent 3 days nearly non stop tracking back and forth keeping the piles tight. Then it was a few times a day stirring and pushing the piles back together for another few days. Still had a few stumps not totally burnt up so they got buried.
