Subject: Taking the tax lumps today

Pittsburg, Kansas
Good points.

99% of what we have in gold and silver is in PSLV, CEF and a little in PHYS. No loaning it out.

Taxes are an issue and 2025 I will already be popular with Uncle Sam. Capital gains in the personal account, ordinary gains in both corporate accounts and no tax consequences in Roth IRA accounts. I am well aware of taxes.

But paying taxes is a good place to be. Better than being broke.

Also your comment on future tax rates is on my mind. If the socialist get in power tax the rich will again be the rallying call to get elected. What they really will mean is make everyone poorer. Once upon a time tax rates were high enough by the time you added in state and local sales taxes a high earner got to keep about a dime of every dollar earned. I hope we don't go there again, but I can see where we might look back sometime in the future and wish for the tax rates we have today. Look at the more socialist European taxes. Certain powers that be wish we would go there and promising free crap gets them elected. So I'm purposely taking my lumps on taxes on some of it today, not knowing what tomorrow brings.
