North Central Indiana | I don’t. Might not be right but I set my pressure constant when I border a field. I know I overapply in places but I hate seeing corners get weedy because they got a real low rate. I’m fairly constant on speed once I get going and only have a couple fields with real short rows. So short version of what I do. Pick the tip I want for in field running based on speed, pressure, and volume. Then set the pressure to my normal operating pressure for bordering and just keep my speed slower than my pressure can apply for. Then go back to automatic rate control once the border is done. My tip sizing choice is mostly based on volume I’m applying. I typically use plenty of water so I need pretty good sized tips to run a burn down and pre with 20 gallons and 16 mph. Then when I post corn I only like to run 7-8mph. I use 20 gallons because I’ve got a hired kid who is really good at keeping the tender truck moving and we get two sprayer loads in one trip with the truck. I watched him mixing loads when he first started and he’s just a natural at thinking ahead and having everything ready to go so when he pulls in with the truck he can have everything loaded and measured for his next load without slowing down the pump. Only time he gets to sit is driving the truck and then waiting for me to spray out the first load
