Not doubting that, but it would have come in the form of a smaller loss. If that’s what you mean by profit.
I'm starting to lock in some 2026 crop prices and barring a major weather disaster I'll be in the black on my higher rent ground and the lower rent ground averaged across the rotation.
I agree that focusing on more bushels alone isn't always the most profitable answer. I grow some high protein clear hilum soybeans some years. Yield is lower than the best regular beans, but it is more net $ WHEN the buyer is willing to pay up to make it worthwhile.
