Definitely a cool season crop. They do poorly enough in our summer heat that they won't do what you want in the heat. You're probably far enough south to get Austrian winter peas to survive the winter mixed with your cereals.
I've been happy with buckwheat, sunn hemp, and cowpeas mixed with pearl millet or sorghum sudangrass. The grasses tend to dominate though. | |
