I do most years put down a pre. Sulfur, small amount goes on with dry micronutrients. My dad actually used to be a fan of putting all N down with pre spray. Don't recall it being a bad way to go but I feel like gas makes a little better corn and is of course usually cheaper. I do like your idea of n with pre, would take pulling liquid back and forth from coop.
