It's been my experience when you have one you don't get going good the first and it doesn't burn you have a mess. You might take the trackhoe and tear the pile apart so you can cut the ends not burnt with a chain saw and then replied in a taller tighter pile. Once you get charred pieces they can really be hard to start.
