That's a pretty good story that many people including me were not aware of. Thanks.
Buffet/Heinz sucker punched the Canadian town of Leamington...so the town of Leamington pulled Buffet/Heinz jersey up over their head and punched back until Buffet/Heinz cried uncle.
Leamington is Municipality I live & farm in . 30 miles se of Detroit. Dad grew tomatoes for Heinz for 38 until he decided to make his fortune in hogs, lol. I know most all in the video, thanks for sharing.
What I seen was when Heinz/Kraft/Buffet decided to close the plant it was #1 to break the union & there benefits for workers . Wasn't closed long before Highbury Canco took it over and soon was doing French 's products and now back to producing lots of products for Heinz. When I got out of school they did baby food, relishes ,pickles (until Holland ,Mi. plant pulled a fast one) ,ketchup, juice, ect. 1,400 employees . Conclusion in my eyes is Companies find using contract plants to do there products is a cheap way out with no legacy costs. Tecumseh also had Green Giant plant, similar fate & ending
Canadian Ketchup is Primo ..don't see it on many shelves as major chains charge several 100 thousand $$ for shelf space https://canadiangrocer.com/new-primo-ketchup-most-canadian
