| well, the middle class is slipping, by taking on more personal debt they can hide it for awhile. I know the technology ie air conditioning, flat screen tv`s, cars with power windows make the poor in the US the best off in the world. however, to have a job with benefits, be able to afford a modest house, send kids to college ECT is more of a rich to upper middle class ability. a semester at Iowa State used to be $1500 a bricklayer could help his kids out. early 1980`s my health insurance was $250/yr, yet some buddies thought at time "too high! that is a lot of pitchers of beer!" . | |
