Central ND | There's a reason you can find the Viper4+ in all different colors of machines, it really is that good, but people get used to one system and just don't want to change, which I understand because we all get set in our ways.
I'll never fault someone for wanting to stick with what they know, but I make sure to ask many questions and either ask them to come to my dealership and play with my simulator or at the very least poke around with a basic powerpoint type simulator I can send them via email before we replace a Viper4 if they don't have at least a partial season of use with one.
Many people who want to replace it will stick with the Viper4 when I demonstrate that we can pull their existing lines in, it just takes a little computer work, but since FieldOps has come out it's not a big deal.
Now, an existing Viper Pro.... For that I have told them I can do a Viper4+ reman installed and set up for about $7k, or else we can swap to a Pro700 system to match their other machines.
Since the Pro700 is gone now, unless they have one sitting on a shelf they know is good along with a NAV and receiver, I will probably try to talk them out of going that route in the future simply because I don't have proof in hand of a future replacement path without either going to full ISO control and replacing it again or going back to a Raven system. | |
