Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | My gut instinct is that it might work but the GPS in a phone is not very accurate and the results could be disappointing.
We have some fields where the neighbor borders ours with no line fence or other obstacles in between. It is desirable to have rows match up with each other. He uses an Ag Leader auto steer system and we do also. We have an AB line that is the property line between us. One party made the line and saved it to a USB stick that was hand carried to the other party. The boundary AB line was then imported to the other parties display. In other words that Boundary AB line is present in both displays.
When we plant, He shifts the AB line half the width of his planter his direction. We shift the AB line half the width of our planter our direction. The result is that the gap between the rows between the two fields in nice and consistent. This has worked out well since both parties use the same system.
We do this with other fields that just border our own as well. These Boundary AB lines are stored from year to year and have proven to be very useful. We are using Terra Star Pro C rather than RTK so the year to year repeatability is not perfect but has worked out well enough.
