Buhl, ID | IVF was getting common on dairylies a few years ago but $16 milk has put the brakes on.
Use the top 1% as donor cows. Rank the rest of the herd in thirds… Breed the bottom 33% to beef. Middle 33% as recipients. Top 33% use top sexed bulls. Can make a lot of progress this way but it takes some $.
I wouldn't mess with it in a beef herd but that's just my opinion.
As for your original question, 60% take on beef cows and 50% on dairy cows
