My neighbor raised a family on well balanced livestock farm of 160 acres. Cows, feeder pigs, chickens, ducks and geese roaming the barn yard. 4 fields of 40 acres each. Oats/hay, pasture, corn, beans. Rotated. Very few weed seeds ever made it to the ground. He was a very kind, gentle man. Lots of patience. Never, ever in a hurry. He and his wife were my godparents. Sure do miss them.
