Yes, that works. I just want to warn people that it comes with a bunch of often unforeseen effects that can bite you later on.

Let's say that you create files while your date is set backwards, and you are doing regular backups - let's say, you're doing backups once/month for all files changed/modified in the last month. You might not get newly created files with the adjusted backwards date. 

That's just one issue, there are others...
