Subject: RE: No-till

Iowa - Floyd County
We ran a 16r22” mounted planter for many years in no-till. If there was one thing it struggled with it was maintaining ground contact. Depending on the year you could really tell. It had hydraulic downforce on it and we ran it fully mounted, no lift assist. We added weight to the bar to the point of breaking things and none of it fixed the problem. I do think part of it was the narrow row spacing, a 30” planter may do better.
