My grandad said the weeds would get terrible. He said they chopped corn that was 50 percent lambs quarter. I even remember back in the 80s real bad weeds. I saw fields of corn be more Johnson grass than corn. People used to walk bean fields with a hoe.

One thing they did before chems was crop rotation and tillage as needed. Crop rotation is huge.
