| I took note, and nearly all the replies except David are from the Midwest, especially Iowa and Indiana.... I don't know if the ground will go unfarmed, but I have 2 cousins farming in the South, and they both tell me the equity burn has been going on for several years already. I think there's multiple factors at play, as to why the South has it worse than the Midwest. And I'm sure this whole cotton thing is just another 'nail in the coffin'. 40 some odd inches of rain during the growing season did nothing for their corn this year. Try harvesting 125 bpa corn and seeing how it pencils.
