middleish iowa | Less than 10% of producers receive 63% of crop insurance payments. There are farmers who consistantly bilk hundreds of dollars per acre every year. They have a system that is foolproof. Just be a producer with enough acres to keep the money flowing.
However rarely, some of the dumber farmers who are careless do get caught. It makes for some good stories.
This is why there is so much push back to make government backed insurance payments not available for public. | |
