Vaccinations- what you’re giving and when you’re giving it
Feed- whatever you’re feeding make sure it’s good, and don’t change it. Keep it the same 1 month prior to 1 month after implant
Time of year- I usually won’t put many eggs in after 6/1 here mostly because of the heat.
Quality of eggs- life is to short to mess with poor quality embryos
Heat detection- I walk my recips, and record their heats and will match embryos stage codes based on the heat time
Know your recips. I keep records on each cow, how often she carry’s egg vs cleanup, and so on. I have cows that will take an embryo on the first round every time. Use those on my perceived best matings.
Stress- major one here IMO, but I keep it to an absolute minimum. (Feed, water, heat, vac, handling) | |
