| That rent seems a little high.
My dad said when prices were real bad with cotton during his career he’d always figure out some side hustle. Like in the early nineties he started putting in video rental stores. A guy said about him “you weren’t afraid to peddle pencil on the street corner” which is kind of an insult but also the highest form of compliment
And then there’s this story/joke my dad likes to tell and it’s about a frog caught in a wagon wheel track. His friends sitting there telling him to jump out and he responds with I’m trying but I can’t jump high enough. Then they see a wagon coming down the road and just before it gets to him he jumps out of the wagon wheel. And his friends says I thought you said you couldn’t jump that high and he responds “it’s different when you have to” | |
