Subject: RE: Road trip PNW to California

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I drove Seattle to San Fran in September 2023. Fantastic drive along the coast. It is mentally draining to drive on that road. 100-120 miles a day is about all we wanted. Did 180 miles one day and was beat tired.

I was more impressed with the bridge in Astoria, OR than the Golden Gate.

The redwoods in northern CA are incredible to see, you'll want to spend a day driving in that area. Drive on the Avenue of the Giants in this area, which parallels the 101.

We did see zombies (drugged up people that are barely functional) in Eureka, CA. I had seen videos, but it was crazy to see them wandering through a restaurant.

Lots of vehicle break ins in San Fran - they like to steal anything that might be valuable. Keep your bags in the trunk of the car. Cabin needs to be empty.
